Can you advise on hooking up a scanner to a printer?

We have an HP laserjet printer hooked up to our office ethernet network. Can we now connect our Canon copier/scanner to the HP printer via USB (both machinese have USB porrts) and thereby get access to the copier/scanner from our computers? We would like to be able to scan a document into the scanner and have it available to our network. The copier/scanner does not have an ethernet port, only USB and telephone jacks.

    You’ll have to hook the scanner to one specific pc, then anyone on the network can access it, through that pc.
