The paper-feed in my old laser printer is having trouble grabbing a sheet.because the rubber wheel has dried out and gotten too slick. Any replacement part would be expensive and has probably already dried up on the shelf. How can I restore some tackiness to the rubber without gumming up everything? Double-sided cellophane tape is a bit too strong. I am counting on the Hobbies and Crafts community for a creative idea.

I’ve just washed the ones that I’ve had trouble with… soap and water if you can take the roller out.
Otherwise, what I find that’s really good to clean various things is white-board cleaner fluid. but start small and see how your roller might react to it.
Your wheel is probably not dried out, but just covered with paper fibers (powder) that no longer permit it to grab well..

Put some gold pants on it and tease its hair?
