telephones = data or voice communication over long distances
fax machines = sending and receiving data transmissions over phone lines and printing the data
overhead projectors = useful as a means to present charts and other information to small groups.

The Overhead Projector (OHP) was invented specifically for teaching. It means you can face your class, write/draw,/place info on to a transparency so that it appears ona screen behind you for your pupils to see. Telephones simply enable people to talk over long distances. Fax machines enable documents/pix to be sent via phone lines for instant transmission. Photocopiers produce multiple copies of documents. Hope this helps.
