it started after i upgraded to vista and the software is still on my pc but when i want to scan or print it sais that the divice is not dected.

    You should go to the printer’s website and see if they have a driver for vista. That should take care of the problem.

    You will have to go to the manufacturer’s website, and search for updated drivers. Just follow the links to your model.

    If it’s an older machine, they may not bother with new drivers.

    The next best option is to try to install a generic driver through the add hardware wizard. Try to choose the device that most closely matches what you have.
