mommyofthezoo asked:
I have a printer/scanner/copier combo, when I scan in a 4X6 print, it automatically takes it to the hp photo thing on my computer (it is an hp scanner), also, it only shows up as about a quarter of the available space. I am so frusterated as I have tried different things, looked at the book, and had others look at it. Am I missing something? I would like to get it to scan right to my other pictures and also be the full size of available space for it. Thanks so much for any help!!

Are you referring to the space of a piece of paper? You will need to check the file type. Some types do not allow resizing without distording the picture. JPEGs are best suited for resizing. You will probably need another program to resize the actual picture. Just viewing the picture, should be easy enough to get a different perspective of the picture’s size by altering the viewing ratio.

you can’t really do that just like that (the automatic resizing that is)…unless you have special software that could cut the work in half, then the only way is doing all the work yourself

before the actual scan, there should be a selection screen. From there, you can crop the picture to the intended size. so when the picture is finally saved, it should be the full picture without the blank edges.

You are scanning at too few DPI (dots per inch). If you up your DPI, or resolution, then you also up the size of the picture in that software. Since I don’t have the manual on hand, look for DPI and up it to 300 or more.
